The ability for any company to maintain its competitive edge in this day and age may come right down to having an effective written Health and Safety Program. Many General Contractors, Construction Managers and even Owners require a comprehensive program from all of their subcontractors even prior to having the ability to bid work on their projects. Their interests lie in hiring Subcontractors that are pro-active in their safety efforts. Not only is the written program important, but the Subcontractors commitment and implementation of a written safety program is almost as important as the bottom dollar line of the bid. The fact that OSHA also has requirements relating to written safety programs is only second rate to the most successful and business savvy contractors. They already know about the cost savings and the reduction in insurance premiums that an effective written program can provide. Of course, their greatest rewards to having effective written programs of their own, is the continued safety and reduction in incidents their programs have provided to their workers. Believe us when we say that they will expect the same from those they do business with! How does your businesses written safety and health policy measure up? Does it establish roles and responsibilities for implementation of the policy as required by MN AWAIR Regulations? Do you have policies to cover all aspects of the work your company performs? Do you have an Employee-Right-to-Know policy that is effective and that provides for both initial and annual training as required by MN Rule 5206? If the answer to any of these questions is “NO”, then why don’t you give one of our Consultants a call? We have assisted many of our clients with developing and implementing comprehensive safety and health programs. Can you afford not to have one? |
